Microsoft keys in new PR agency of record
Microsoft Canada is working with Assembly, a bespoke agency and member of the Edelman family of global companies, for its Canadian PR needs. Assembly is officially the local public relations agency of record and part of what Microsoft is calling a “new global PR agency model.”
Assembly is a marketing and communications agency specifically built to serve Microsoft, and will lead Microsoft Canada’s storytelling and communications initiatives, including media and influencer relations.
Assembly is already the global PR agency for Xbox, and the influencer agency of Xbox, Surface, Microsoft 365 and Windows.
The company says partnering with Assembly in Canada will enable Microsoft to leverage the scale of its longstanding global partnership with Assembly, while “supercharging its local storytelling and communications capabilities.”
This marks an end to an 11-year relationship with Veritas, which in 2013, assumed responsibility for supporting earned media relations and activation around all of Microsoft’s enterprise and consumer platforms in Canada.
TD Canada sets up a tab at ThePub
Publicis Groupe Canada’s end-to-end production studio, ThePub, has been awarded business to deliver creative content for TD in Canada, with the new mandate beginning immediately.
ThePub joins a roster of other Publicis Groupe Canada agencies which already support TD work, including Leo Burnett Canada, Saatchi & Saatchi U.S., MSL Canada, Unison (a bespoke TD media agency) and Starcom Canada.
This new agreement comes after an extensive request for proposal process in Canada. Publicis says this decision will drive value, creative and media synergies with a more integrated agency approach, and bring best in class talent, technology and production expertise.
ThePub is the largest agency-group-owned production house in Canada, and has 12 years of experience delivering content at scale for global and complex brands.
