Vancouver Rise FC unveiled its name, brand and logo during a launch event on Monday.
Rise FC is one of six founding clubs in the Northern Super League (NSL), a new Canadian professional women’s soccer league set to kick off in the spring of 2025.
Club president Sinead King, sporting director Stephanie Labbé and Northern Super League (NSL) president Christina Litz led the event at D/6 Bar & Lounge at Parq Vancouver. The launch was hosted by Canadian TV sportscaster Kate Beirness.
“This is a landmark moment for professional sports in Canada,” Labbé said of the branding that was led by Victory Creative Group. “After months of consulting with fans and stakeholders, we are proud to announce the identity of this club that we are building together. Vancouver Rise FC will be a team that will inspire generations to come… Now, more than ever, we are seeing the true power of women’s sport across the world.”
The peaks on the club’s logo represent Vancouver’s three iconic mountains that overlook the city: Cypress Mountain, Grouse Mountain and Mount Seymour. The team’s colours will be teal, gold and black.
The other clubs that comprise the NSL are Halifax Tides FC, AFC Toronto, Montreal, Calgary Wild FC and Ottawa Rapids FC.
“The launch of Vancouver Rise FC is a monumental moment for the Northern Super League and the entire soccer community in Canada,” NSL president Christina Litz said. “British Columbia boasts an incredible sports culture and deep passion for soccer. From the FIFA Women’s World Cup to Christine Sinclair’s final match for Canada’s National Team, this province has consistently shown up to support women’s soccer.”
