Rosnick steps down after half a century in the business
Ted Rosnick, CEO of Rosnick Holdings Inc., is stepping down after 48 years of music and sound production for TV and radio commercials, film, television, gaming and websites.
In 2016, Rosnick’s company, RMW Music, was purchased by Vapor Music, a Toronto- and Vancouver-based advertising audio production company where he served a nearly eight-year stint as creative director. The company has produced work for brands including Samsung, Lululemon, OLG, Destination Canada, IKEA, Nescafe and Hyundai.
Recently, he was executive producer and audio director for the podcast, “It’s Only Fucking Advertising,” with global CCO and Rethink partner Aaron Starkman.
His creative work has been recognized by Cannes, D&AD, the ADCCs and the Clios. He has also been involved with multiple MIA Award winners.
The Berklee College of Music grad got his start as a jingle writer in the mid 1970s, founding his eponymous production company.
Rosnick tells strategy that during the last 50 years, he has been fortunate to have worked on some of the best advertising in the country.
Weber Shandwick Canada names new creative leader
Weber Shandwick Canada has named Ben Pobjoy as its executive creative director.
His most recent industry work includes leading the creative team at Behaviour, where he worked on brands like Air Canada, Coors Light, Kellogg’s, Molson Canadian, PepsiCo, RBC, Starbucks and Telus.
Pobjoy was on Behaviour’s senior leadership team and helped grow the agency from six figure gross revenue to eight figure gross revenue. Pobjoy also built the creative department, where he managed 10 direct reports.
In 2023, he completed 242 solo marathons in 70 different countries as a DIY attempt to set a new world record, earning 92 million organic media impressions.
His 2024 short film, The Brown Dog, starring Michael K. Williams and Steve Buscemi, premiered at the Tribeca Festival with 12 Years a Slave’s Chiwetel Ejiofor and The Wire’s Idris Elba joining the project as executive producers.
