Astral Out of Home has brought back its Carte Blanche creative competition for the sixth year, expanding this time to Calgary and Edmonton.
The competition, also open to advertising agencies in Toronto, Vancouver and Montreal, asks participants to come up with a brand new OOH idea of the client of their choice for a chance to win a trip to the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity and an Astral Out of Home campaign valued at $50,000.
The entries are judged by peers in the creative community, who will determine the top 10 entries. A jury made up of participating agencies then determines the winning submissions.
This year’s formats for submissions include a Toronto transit shelter, digital horizontal billboards for Vancouver, Edmonton and Calgary and a Montreal vertical billboard (in French).
Entrants can submit their work beginning March 23 until April 13, 2015 on the competition website. The Toronto and Western Canada winners will be announced May 19 and 20, respectively and the Montreal winner will be announced May 28 at L’Arsenal during the closing day of the C2MTL conference.
Last year’s winners included the “Chat perdu” ad for Lotto Max from Lg2 in Montreal, the McMuffin Sunrise billboard in Vancouver from Cossette, and a thermometer-themed ad for Mark’s from Sid Lee in Toronto.
