30-year CPG leader takes over at The Beer Store
Roy Benin has been appointed president of The Beer Store after a seven month search.
Benin replaces Ted Moroz, who was with the company for 40 years, and held the title since 2009. Moroz will retire in April 2023.
Benin brings 30 years of experience in leadership roles in the CPG sector, and specializes in consumer orientation, supply chain management and positioning food and beverage organizations for growth. Most recently, he was the president of Interbake Foods, and previously, he was the president of two business units at Weston Foods Ltd.
YWCA finally names its CEO
YWCA has announced that Aline Nizigama will be its new CEO. Nizigama joins the YWCA from the Centre du Francophone du Grand Toronto, where she served as its director of strategic projects, partnerships and communications.
Since February 2022, YWCA has been led by interim CEO Raine Liliefeldt, who will now continue in her role as director of member services and development.
Nizigama officially begins her role as of March 20, 2023.
SAQ’s marketer shifting to sales
After four years as SAQ’s director of marketing and donations and sponsorships, Ariane de Warren is taking her career in a new direction.
She’s spent over a decade in the Quebec alcohol retailer’s marketing department, but as of May 2023, she’ll transition into a sales role with the company that’ll support its B2B customers, namely in catering, agencies and food.
So far, de Warren’s position has not been filled, but the role will be open both internally and externally.
Nike appoints chief DE&I officer – its fourth in three years
James Loduca has joined Nike as its chief diversity, equity and inclusion officer. Previously, he held the role of VP inclusion, diversity and equity at Twitter for over three years.
Loduca is one of the few openly LGBTQ+ Latinx executives in the field, and he believes that the more than 25 years of experience he brings to the role will help to address systemic inequality, uplift underrepresented communities and people, and accelerate change at top Fortune 500 companies.
He succeeds Jarvis Sam, who departed the company in November 2022. Loduca represents the fourth officer of this kind at Nike since 2020.
