FCB Montreal adds new ACD

FCB Montréal adds an ACD

Alexandra-Julie Poirier is FCB Montréal’s new associate creative director.

Her main responsibilities will be working on Air Canada and Sobeys/IGA accounts, as well as recent agency win, Novartis.

A former ACD with McCann Canada and art director with Taxi, she’s worked client side as a freelancer for McGill University, Desjardins and Indigo and this summer was named a CMA awards judge.

“The agency has grown considerably over the past year, to the point where we needed to add someone of [Poirier’s] caliber to strengthen the creative department and keep our creative product constantly evolving,” said Sylvain Dufresne, co-president and head of creative at FCB Montréal. “[Her] experience strengthens FCB’s capacity as a Montréal agency that excels with both local and national clients.”

Leo Burnett adds another group CD

Leo Burnett Canada added another new senior member of its creative team following what it calls a stellar year in new business, which includes winning the remit for Pizza Hut Canada this spring.

Tim Holmes (right) joins Ryan Kukec (left) as a group creative director, both reporting to Leo’s joint chief creative officers, Lisa Greenberg and Steve Persico.

“As we continue our evolution to creative consultancy, we are thrilled to bring on such diversity of thinking to give us new ways of approaching and solving problems,” says Persico. [They] have exactly what we want in creatives, good humans who have a contagious passion to do brilliant things.”

Kukec will partner with Leo art director, Tyler McKissick to “establish a creative duo to help solve clients’ biggest briefs.” Kukec previously worked at John St. where he helped to develop No Frills’ “Haulers” and other Cannes, D&AD, Effies and Clio winning campaigns. He was also previously an ACD at No Fixed Address, Zulu Alpha Kilo and Cossette.

Holmes, born in Australia, has a career which spans two decades at agencies in Canada, the U.S. and Australia, most recently serving as a group creative director at Ogilvy Toronto. He served a three and a half year stint as creative director at DDB, Chicago.

Holmes has extensive experience across multiple categories and disciplines and has been awarded internationally in all major creative shows including Cannes, D&AD, One Show and Clios.
