Omni Hotels & Resorts hires top marketer

North American hotel chain Omni Hotels & Resorts, has appointed Michael Innocentin as its chief marketing officer.

Innocentin will oversee the planning, development and execution of all brand marketing initiatives, including advertising, PR, social media, website and digital campaigns. Additionally, he will direct Omni’s customer engagement and Select Guest Loyalty programs. He will report directly to Jeff Doane, the company’s chief commercial officer.

Innocentin has a hospitality career that’s spanned 20 years. Prior to joining Omni, Innocentin served as the senior vice president of commercial projects at Fairmont Hotels in Toronto. He has also held various leadership positions at Accor, also out of Toronto, including senior vice president of marketing for North America and vice president of ecommerce and digital for North America. He currently serves as the global chair of Hospitality Sales and Marketing Association International.

Omni is operator of Montreal’s Hotel Omni Mont-Royal, the Omni King Edward Hotel in Toronto and 49 other properties throughout the U.S.

YMCA of Greater Toronto promotes a senior marketer

Juan Delgado has been promoted to general manager of marketing and digital integration at the YMCA of Greater Toronto.

Delgado most recently worked as the non-profit’s senior marketing manager.

Delgado is a former marketing manager for Entertainment One and a former freelance campaign strategist, working on such accounts as Plenty of Fish, Chrysler Canada and Tealeaves.

Calgary Real Estate Board adds a new communicator

Ken Schmaltz is starting a new role as

A longtime communications consultant and marketer, Schmaltz recently worked as a senior marketing advisor to Imperial Oil, with duties including field marketing, marketing communications and consumer experience,  as well as on-site advertising for Esso and Mobil sites, creative concept, and print and digital work.

Schmaltz led internal launches of marketing initiatives, including digital communications and employee events, and was Esso and Mobil consumer experience (CX) program lead for Canada.

CFA Society Toronto adds marketer

Jessi-Lyna Wan is starting a new position as marketing communications manager at CFA Society Toronto.

Wan is a former manager of marketing and communication for the Canadian Franchise Association, who developed and executed all marketing plans for the organization and all other departments.  She is also a former marketing coordinator for Hanesbrands.
