Toronto Global names senior marketer

Derek Flack has been named the new vice president of brand and marketing for business accelerator, Toronto Global.

Flack will be tapped to lead brand storytelling and integrated marketing initiatives to assist with the organization’s goal of solidifying Toronto as a preeminent city for international investment and business activity.

Flack recently worked as director of digital marketing and content strategy for Toronto Metropolitan University (TMU), where he oversaw TMU’s central web and social properties, video strategy and digital brand initiatives, working with stakeholders across the university to produce multimedia content and web experiences.

Flack was also previously the long-time editor-in-chief of BlogTO.

Edmonton Unlimited adds senior-level marketer

Stephanie Gillis-Paulgaard is starting a new position as vice president of marketing and communications at innovation hub, Edmonton Unlimited.

She most recently worked as principal and chief strategist of Take Roots Consulting. Prior to that, she was director of communications and marketing for TEK Edmonton, a not-for-profit joint venture between the University of Alberta and Edmonton Economic Development Corporation.
