Hockey Canada promotes senior marketer

Jody Kingsbury has been appointed director of marketing at Hockey Canada.

Kingsbury was recently the organization’s senior marketing manager.

His role includes leading the creation of comprehensive marketing plans to drive revenue generation through ticket sales for international and Team Canada hosted events. It also includes supporting the operational development of a national 50-50 program, taking charge of the marketing strategy, both nationally and regionally within participating provinces.

Prior to joining Hockey Canada, Kingsbury was director of marketing for Wheelchair Basketball Canada. He is also a former manager, athlete marketing and alumni relations for the Canadian Paralympic Committee.

National Bank of Canada bolsters its marketing team

David Mora Godoy is starting a new position as senior advisor, content, brand and advertising at National Bank of Canada. He was most recently team lead, Bombardier Recreational Products (BRP) brand global brand office, where he was responsible for crafting brand strategy for BRP’s brand efforts. He also managed the brand books, conducted brand audits and guided the brand evolution.

Prior, as a BRP global brand strategy specialist, Godoy guided branding and naming for launches of Can-Am, Alumacraft, Sea-Doo, Ski-Doo and others.

BMO names TD vet to its creative roster

Jesse Pearson is BMO’s new creative director, personal and business banking.

Pearson was previously associate creative director at TD Bank, a position he held for nearly three years.

Agency-side, he served as ACD at Publicis Canada handling creative direction for Red Lobster (US & Canada), VISA (Canada), Rachael Ray’s Nutrish pet food brand, since purchased by Post Consumer Brands from Smucker. He is also a two-year Diamond veteran, where in the ACD role he worked on brand experiences for multi-channel campaigns and visual design for TD Canada Trust, TD Bank (US), Dairy Farmers of Ontario and General Mills brands.

Staples Canada makes a promotion

Lisa Kudrenski has been promoted to brand + creative strategy at Staples Promotional Products Canada. Kudrenski most recently held the integrated marketing role for Staples Canada, and was strategy lead driving growth for B2B/DTC Print and marketing services.

Prior to joining Staples, Kudrenski was director, brand strategy for apparel brand Northern Reflections and director, brand strategy/growth marketing at Waxon Laser + Waxbar.

Campbell boosts its shopper bench

Lauren Scallen is starting a new role as assistant manager, integrated marketing – shopper at Campbell’s Canada.

She has held similar roles, most recently at digital shopping platform, ShopStyle.
