Former Gut and No Fixed Address exec brings back consultancy
Ex-Gut Toronto and NFA chief strategy officer, Dino Demopoulos (pictured above), has relaunched his consultancy, Chroma Strategies.
Demopoulos said Chroma was initially one part of Paper Strategy, the boutique brand he co-founded in 2016.
Chroma will offer services to creative agencies, marketers and startups. The focus will be brand strategy, creative development or strategic planning.
Demopoulos has spent more than 20 years in executive strategy and leadership roles in media and creative agencies, and he has been recognized at Cannes for work on brands such as Tropicana, Tim Hortons and Cheerios. He was the strategic architect behind the TimBiebs campaign for Tim Hortons.
Demopoulos left his role as Gut Toronto CSO in April after serving three years with the agency.
SDI appoints new CEO
SDI has appointed executive vice president Terri Truscello (pictured above) to CEO.
Founder Roy Roedger takes over the chairperson role of the sports, XM strategy, creative and sales solutions agency.
The privately held SDI includes SDIsports, XM shop, Midnight Circus, Fuel Media, SDImktg Doha, Kite, bds Connected Solutions, Good Things and Polite Payroll.
The marketing side of the business specializes in sports, culture and fan experiences, and is active at events such as the Super Bowl, the FIFA World Cup and the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF).
The Hive CSO stepping aside
After three-and-a-half years, Dustin Rideout (pictured above) is leaving his role as chief strategy officer and partner at The Hive, the agency best known for its work with brands such as EQ Bank, BRP, Warrior Sports and Canadian Olympic Committee.
Before signing on with The Hive, Rideout held chief creative officer posts with McCann Worldgroup Canada, where he led the brand and fan experience teams at MLSE, and Juniper Park\TBWA.
He was also a partner and strategy lead at Sid Lee.
Citizen Relations promotes a CD
Citizen Relations has promoted Jess Richards (pictured above) from associate creative director to creative director.
Richards’ career spans more than 15 years, and includes digital, broadcast, experiential, CRM and direct mail. Her recent work includes a McCain Mother’s Day campaign, “Put Mom in the Picture.”
Prior to joining Citizen Relations, she was a freelance ACD and art director and before that, was associate creative director with McCann Canada. She began her career as an art director with OgilvyOne.
