McCann Canada has made two senior appointments in its Toronto office, including hiring George Panopoulos as the president of MRM/McCann in Canada.

Panopoulos will work across all clients at MRM, McCann’s digital, data and CRM-focused shop.

Panopoulos is returning to Canada after two years as head of digital for North America at The&Partnership, based in the agency’s New York office. Prior to that, he spent eight years with Critical Mass, holding senior roles in the digital agency’s offices in Toronto, Austin, Chicago and Calgary.

Panopoulos takes over the position from Jay Miles, who became president at the beginning of 2014 and had been with MRM since the fall of 2000.

The agency has also promoted Ryan Timms to SVP of client leadership at McCann Toronto. Previously VP and director of client service, Timms has been with the agency since 2005 and most recently oversaw operations for the Bayer and Mastercard accounts.
