Toronto’s Draftfcb and PFLAG (Parents, Families and Friends of Lesbians and Gays) took home a Gold at last night’s Effies in New York for its “Stories to inspire change” campaign.
The 45th annual prize is awarded to companies based on the effectiveness of their marketing and communication efforts, much like the CASSIES in Canada.
Draftfcb and PFLAG took home the top prize in the LGBT Community Category and was also in the running for the Grand Effie, which pits top scoring Gold Effies against each other. In the end, the jury awarded the Grand Effie to Blizzard and 72andSunny for it’s Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 campaign “The vet and the n00b.”
Taxi picked up a Silver Effie for its Boston Pizza “Joy of Finger Cooking” campaign in the Restaurants category, while Ogilvy & Mather and Unilever nabbed a Bronze Effie for Hellmann’s Real Food Movement in the Sustained Success category.
