
New GM appointment by Keurig Dr Pepper Canada
Jonathan Theisen (pictured above) is taking on the role of general manager at Van Houtte Coffee Services, a division of Keurig Dr Pepper Canada. Under the mandate, he is responsible for a team of 400+ across 30+ sites in Canada, handling the out-of-home and beverage experience.
Prior, Theisen was director of procurement and supply chain strategy and also served as director of strategic partnerships, managing relationships within the Keurig system network such as Tim Hortons, Coke Bottling Canada and other coffee brands.
He joined Keurig in 2016 as a key account manager.
Subway Canada lead marketer steps aside
Subway Canada’s top marketer, Lisa Mazurkewich, is stepping aside. Mazurkewich was head of marketing (Canada) for the QSR for two-and-half years.
She oversaw brand work featuring the Toronto Raptors’ Scottie Barnes and all-star sports roster, marketing supporting the introduction of rice bowls into the Canadian market, Valentine’s Day campaigns and the restaurant chain’s 2023 menu overhaul.
Mazurkewich joined Subway from Fire & Flower, where she served as the cannabis retailer’s VP of marketing. She also held director-level roles with Ulta Beauty, Starbucks and Bacardi.
BDO Canada names CMO
BDO, the network of public accounting, tax, consulting and business advisory firms, has named Tara Berze to the position of chief marketing officer for Canada.
Berze brings more than 20 years of marketing experience in professional services, and regulatory and technology organizations.
She was recently GM of global social and content marketing for accounting software brand, Xero.
Berze served as executive vice president of marketing and communications for the Chartered Professional Accountants of Ontario (CPA Ontario), where she focused on brand building and engagement.
Hershey vet joins Instacart
Alex Fitzgerald is stepping into the role of senior sales executive of brand partnerships for grocery delivery and pickup service, Instacart.
She previously held the role of senior key account manager of Walmart, for The Hershey Company, based in Toronto. She was also tenured at the CPG for more than 13 years. She worked with the strategic retail partner on Hershey’s core confectionery business to engage the shopper in-aisle, with display and online through integrated programs.
Prior, Fitzgerald was Hershey’s marketing manager for the CPG’s seasonal business, from new product development, production, media and sales execution.
